I have been visiting my parents graves every Friday after Jum3a lately, Alhamdulillah. It makes Fridays even better than they already are. May Allah forgive them.
This Friday I came across this fresh grave. This lady must have just been buried a day or two ago. I normally don’t care for anything “extra” when it comes to graves but it was hard not to stand there and look at this one for a few minutes. I read the Fatiha for her. It was someone’s grandmother. The sky was interesting and just the setting overall was oddly beautiful Mashallah.

I recalled years ago seeing a documentary about morticians in the souther US. The guy being interviewed said he liked the muslim process of burial the best because it didn’t hide death. It was the most practical. He said putting makeup on the dead and dressing them up is for living people so they don’t see death.
Anyway, remember your graves and don’t forget to visit your loved ones. May Allah have mercy on all of our dead.
