I’m a white woman in America, who wants to marry Muslim man. Here is the problem. He told his mother about me with intention to be with me and get her approval. She did not approve, refuses to even meet me, and basically said if you marry a white girl, even if Muslim, you are not my son. I don’t drink, smoke, do anything haram. I have a good job, good family and am family oriented. The only reason she has for denying this match is based solely on my race. They are Pakistani, I’m not. What I’d like to ask you all is, how is this ok, Islamically speaking? Can anyone please share parts of the Quran where it says that all races are equal? And that someone who take shahada (converts) is just as Muslim as a “born Muslim”? I’m hoping to show her that’s she’s denying her own religion by saying I’m less of a person because of the color of my skin. This cannot be right in the eyes of Allah (SWT) and I’m looking for specific parts in Quran to help support this. If you took the time to read this and comment, thank you so much.
