Hello ☺️ I am a Western revert, and my husband has been Muslim his entire life. I know it is usual for babies’ middle names to be the fathers’ first name. We are having a baby girl, and I was just wondering if this is still necessary? I understand the importance of tradition, please don’t get me wrong, I am only curious if it is really wrong for us to choose a different, more female-appropriate middle name. She will have her father’s last name and he will be listed on the birth certificate, of course, so I am wondering if that suffices and therefore she could have a different middle name.
