Assalamu alakum

I'm Christian so obviously I come from a different perspective, I understand that in Islam Isa is a prophet that is not divine in nature.

Please correct anything I say that doesn't match what's in the Quran but my understanding is that he is born of a virgin, through spirit, without sin, and spoke from the cradle (In line with the gospel of Thomas)

I've always wanted to ask Muslim but not had the chance irl what is the Quranic understanding of why he was born in this distinctive way?
