Some cosmological accuracies in the Quran

• The number of planets in our solar system :

The children of Jacob (AS) were 13, just like the planets in our solar system (8 planets + 5 dwarf planets = 13 ) . In the Quran, Yusuf (AS) saw 11 planets in his vision, if we count him as one planet and his brother Benjamin who was not yet born at the time of the vision , the number is correct . "˹Remember˺ when Joseph said to his father, “O my dear father! Indeed I dreamt of eleven planets , and the sun, and the moon—I saw them prostrating to me!"

• Geological Timeline :

The formation of the earliest atmosphere occurred 4.6 billion years ago&text=As%20Earth%20cooled%2C%20an%20atmosphere,water%20to%20collect%20on%20it) , the Earth also began to spin 4.6 billion years ago which means that day and night were formed, and then, 4.48 billion years ago the "heavy bombardment" of the Earth took place ,resulting in an increase in the mass of Earth. However, the chronological order of these events is correct in the Quran : " Which is harder to create: you or the sky? He built it,He raised its thickness and proportioned it . And He dimmed its night, and brought forth its daylight . And after that He overwhelmed the Earth ". We can also extract another scientific fact from these verses ; God said that He raised the thickness of the sky , which means that the sky was thin in the beginning . Scientists say the same thing ; the early atmosphere was thinner than today's atmosphere

• Black holes and the Singularity theory :

In astrophysics a black hole is a celestial body with a gravitational field so intense that it does not let anything escape. This can happen when a star is dying and run out of the hydrogen fuel. Black holes are made when the center of a massive star falls upon itself , or collapses .

This is metionned in numerous verses in the Quran : "Then I swear by the fall of the stars, and this, if you only knew, is indeed a great oath "/ "So when the stars are obliterated"/ "And when the stars collapse " , and many other verses .

Almost all the verses quoted in the Quran about stars falling/collapsing which result of them becoming black holes , are events that take place on the Day of "Qiyamah" (the day of judgement) wich is the day the universe will end : "Everyone upon it will perish.Only your Lord Himself, full of Majesty and Honour, will remain ".

Science says the same thing, according to the Singularity theory after the universe will reaches the maximum expansion , all the stars will become black holes and devour it, this phenomenon is known as the Big Crunch .

• The Big Bang according to the String theory :

The string theory states that 11 dimensions of spacetime rule the universe (if we consider a strong coupling , if week coupling only 10, but 11 is more favourite among sciencists )(read page 7 , c) . We live in 3 spatial dimensions plus one for time ,and we dont perceive the other 7 spatial dimensions . The same reasoning is found in the Quran , there are 7 skies that we dont perceive (translated in english as heavens) :"˹He is the One˺ Who created seven heavens, one above the other." .

Also the string theory states that the birth of the universe , the Big Bang, was caused by the separation of the 11 dimensions which were a singularity, where the three dimensions we perceive started to expand rapidly while the other 7 were left trapped in the plank length .

This is very true in the Quran if we consider the 3 dimensions as "Earth" and the 7 dimensions as the 7 skies/heavens. This verse is about how God created the universe : "Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and then We separated them "

• Pulsars :

A pulsar is a highly magnetized rotating compact star (usually neutron stars but also white dwarfs) that emits beams of electromagnetic radiation out of its magnetic poles, it also emits a sound similar to knocking, which is accurately described in the Quran: "By the sky and the knocker , and what will make you realize what the knocker is? ˹It is˺ the star of piercing brightness."
