Thinking about converting, and coming out as Muslim

I’ve been thinking about converting to Islam for a while now, but I’m not sure if my parents would allow it. I feel like this would ruin our relationship and make them hate me. I want to wear hijab but I feel as if it would make them uncomfortable. I also am in a christen based school that they paid a lot of me to be in, so would it be selfish if I converted? I just need advice
