Allah loves you more than your mother loves you. When you take a step towards Him, He takes 10 steps towards you, when you walk to Him, He comes running to you. There’s a beautiful hadith where the Prophet ﷺ said,
“Allah is more happy and overjoyed when His slave turns back to Him than a person is happy and overjoyed when he finds his camel after having lost it in the dessert.”
[Bukhari]
Imagine a camel, that can store so much food and water and carries your belongings, goes missing in the heat of the dessert. You’d panic because where are you going to find water from? Where will you find food? How will you survive? How far can you walk before you collapse because of the intense heat and thirst? You’d lie down and sink into fear and hopelessness, just waiting to die a slow death.
Then suddenly, you see your camel standing infront of you so you grab onto its reigns and shout, “Oh Allah! You are my slave and I am Your rabb!” in extreme joy. You’re so happy that you don’t even realise what you’ve said.
And yet, Allah is more happy and more overjoyed when we return back to him, more than this person who found his camel again. That is how much Allah loves and misses us. He is ready to forgive us even if we have sins that cover the entire earth and heavens. Allah loves to forgive and He loves those who repent. So never hesitate to turn back to Him.
