When is it permissible to make Du’a?

I am new to praying and basically teaching myself at home using a mix of YouTube and google.

I’ve ran into some confusion over the permissibility of making Du’a at the end of prayers, which is when I’ve always been told is best time to do it, but apparently it’s not even allowed? Is it supposed to be during the final sujood? I would appreciate some clarity on the topic, thank you!

Also the only prayer I know right now is Fatiha, and I still have to read it from my phone, which I think is fine, but my question is should I add another one or is this okay for now while I’m still trying to memorise it?
