I am from the West and have heard it repeatedly said on reddit that the Western media misrepresents matters. Today I saw the news about the pro-Taliban's womans march to counter the march on women's rights.... and I just don't get it.
I am a woman in the West and I feel that I live a very privileged life. I am married and have a baby. I own a IT related business (which was a lifelong dream of mine). Me and my husband both support each other in achieving our mutual dreams. I work from home and have a great work life balance and freedom.
.. and I just cannot unsee what is happening to women in Afghanistan as anything less than enslavement. Please help me understand.
