As-salaam alaykum! I am a white American college student living in a region with a sizeable muslim population. I have been intrigued by Islam for a few years now, and would like to become a muslim myself.
However, I do realize that many muslims have been subjugated to abuse, racism, islamophobia, and violence predominantly by white Americans. Will my skin color and nationality affect my ability to thrive as a muslim and become accepted into the ummah? I do know that Islam is accepting of all races, but would it be suspicious for a white American specifically to revert?
