My Muslim neighbor recently helped me dig my car out of the mud (as a result of all the recent flooding in the Northeast US), and I wanted to thank him by making him and his family some cookies. Are there any special considerations I should keep in mind to ensure that they are halal? I don't know how strictly they adhere to the rules, but I figured it was best to err on the side of caution.
