Aoa Does anyone have any knowledge on the kind of documents that have been retained and preserved from both the pagan and the Islamic era of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) . I find it so strange that when the communities of Mecca & Medina and others e.g Taif , Abyssinia had people of the Book living amongst them and scribes around why we have no independent contemporaneous descriptions on documents about the attire and conduct of the muslims and how that contrasted with how they had been known previously. What about records of how slaves were released from bondage by paying sums for their freedom? Where is it all? Who’s in charge of collating and housing this evidence or has much of it been destroyed by Wahabism or plain serious negligence?
