Long story short I lent our middle eastern neighbors a tool, and now they’ve given us some sort of flat bread (like a pizza sized naan) which is absolutely delicious and we want to repay the favor. My wife is a great amateur baker and is known for cupcakes. The wife wears a hijab (but the high school/middle school aged daughters do not) so I’m assuming they are somewhat religious. We know nothing about halal and don’t want to give them something that they can’t eat or would be offended by. Any obvious pit falls we should know about? How strict are most practicing Muslims about food? Is chocolate okay?

I apologize for and acknowledge my ignorance in advance and hope this doesn’t offend anyone. Any advice is appreciated.
