We intend to get married soon but my father and he live a great distance away. Due to covid restrictions, my fiancé is unable to fly out to meet my father but my father insists that he come in person, and it must be him to my father. He refused to make any compromise. I never thought it to be mandatory as long as my fiancé receives the blessing but I can't seem to find any info on it anywhere. Is it mandatory in islamic law that he come in person or is a call/video-call acceptable in the current circumstances?
