Salaam everyone - I have a question regarding the 'disbelievers' that are mentioned in the Qur'an. I'm sorry if it's already been answered somewhere in this sub.

I can safely assume that a disbeliever is someone who rejects Islam only after hearing of it in its full and correct form. I won't try to get details on what you guys think "full and correct" means since I guess only Allah swt really knows that for each individual, but would you guys say that my assumption is correct?

That then leads me to the main point of clarification: A very large number of people simply don't know enough about Islam to feel compelled into deciding whether to accept it or reject it. They also don't feel compelled into learning more about Islam just like you or I wouldn't feel compelled to learn more about *insert subject you don't really think about here*. They live their lives according to their own morals and values instilled in them and die without accepting Islam, but also without "rejecting" it in the way a lot of outspoken atheists have.

So my questions basically are: Does the Qur'an/hadith differentiate between "rejecting" and "not accepting"? Does the Arabic word for 'disbeliever' have a more precise definition that its English translation doesn't capture?
