Narrated Aisha (R.): The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "When one of you eats (that is, when one of you desires to eat), he should remember the name of Allah Ta'ala (that is, he will say 'Bismillah' and Start eating). So if he forgets to remember the name of Allah Ta'ala at the beginning of the meal, then (whenever he remembers) he should say 'Bismillahi Awwalahu Wa Aakhirahu' (meaning I start in the name of Allah at the beginning and at the end of the meal)."
