Has there ever been a time where immorality and indecency been so widespread?

The world at large as it exists is both hedonistic and heedless. This applies to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Hedonism entails the pursuit of pleasure and sensual self-indulgence. Whether it be alcohol, drugs, parties, adultery & fornication, pornography, or being obsessed with sex in general.

Heedlessness entails being careless, thoughtless, unmindful, and indifferent of all the suffering, signs, and worldly events around you. All one cares about is their short term desires and pursuits; wanting to have as much "fun" or to collect as much "material objects" as possible in the shortest amount of time. Because that's the new definition of being happy.

Unfortunately, the above phenomena applies to Muslims as well. We're heedless of our faith, a fraction of us gets up to pray Fajr, and in fact, Fajr is often quoted as the most missed prayer. But you'd have no problems waking up on time for an important job interview or an exam.

Not only that, but indecency and immorality is also widespread among Muslims. Consumption of pornography is very common. A lot of Muslims are addicted to it. Adultery, fornication and drinking is also common among the young men & women. That's what it has come to.

It all reminds me of this hadith:

Zainab bint Jahsh asked: I said, "O Alllah's Apostle! Shall we be destroyed even though there are righteous people among us?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Yes, if the khubs increases"

• The desire to harm people
• The quality of being impulsive
• Wickedness or bad and evil doings
• Immorality and indecency

So yes. Even the righteous among us will be destroy if immorality and indecency spreads so much in the world, to the point of becoming common place & rampant.

Q: That's all cool brozzer, but how world destroyed?

Narrated Zainab bint Jahsh:

That one day Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) entered upon her in a state of fear and said, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah! Woe to the Arabs from the Great evil that has approached (them). Today a hole has been opened in the dam of Gog and Magog like this." The Prophet (ﷺ) made a circle with his index finger and thumb.

The end is near.
