First, RNG is: Random Number Generator
The Hadeeth I'm referring to:
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Whoever plays games of dice has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. "
RNG basically is the algorithm running in a game's background to determine loot, rewards, battle results, draws, etc.....
The technique is very common in RPG games and specifically the Japanese turn-based ones.
The game I was stuck in (then discovered) that dice effect is Fire Emblem 4, I reached a boss-fight (Arvis in chapter 10) where only 1 unit in my army is able to defeat the boss by the condition he can dodge the one-shot attacks.
- If I enter to the boss in the 1st or 2nd turn, my character dodges the boss attack.
- If I enter to the boss in the 3rd or 4th turn, my character is insta-killed.
- If I loaded the save and repeated these turn orders, I get the same results!
i.e. The game is using a sequenced dice that determines your combat stats based on which turn you decided to move/attack = The Hadeeth!
Of course, based on these observations the game wants the player to exploit the RNG dice of the game to win the overpowered boss, something I will never bother to do or even think about.
What is your view on this Hadeeth?
