In Surat al-mu'minoon there is a verse about idle talk and of how a true believer avoids idle talk. Does this mean that I am not allowed to share my interests or speak about the bologna sandwich that comes to mind during those inevitable awkward pauses? Does this mean that I cannot talk at all? Because I have a dispairingly bad inability to say something useful. Please help, I can't find the answer. I don't want to have to act dumb (I am willing to do it for my lord, but I'm just really, really bad at it.
