I'm trying to figure out whether my grandmother was one or not.
First off, she was from a very pious, practicing, yet poor family of farmers. Some said that her older brother or father was a wali.
Second off, and this is the big one, her garden was miraculous. After the war and independence of her country, and becoming a widow the same year, she moved all her kids (21 of them) to another part of the province. Her orchards she planted would constantly bear fruit all year round and would have fruit that couldn't be found in any other part of the country. That's what they lived off of. When she passed away, the trees stopped bearing fruit. She was an avid reader of the Qur'an. She's the only other woman in my family aside from me, to wear the niqab.
TL;DR She was very pious to the point it makes me wonder whether she was a wali or not.
It has been over fifty years now and they remained barren. My cousin uprooted the trees a few years back after my uncle passed away and it makes me so mad since I never got to see the place and my dad's last memory of her was her feeding him oranges from the garden.
