Listening to music?

So I know this question was probably asked a million times before but I would just like someone to clear a few doubts I have.

Ever since I read up on websites like islamqa that musical instruments of all sorts are impermissible, I’ve tried my best to avoid them at all costs. This has led me to narrow down all sorts of content I watch on youtube because of the background music that most videos have (and for important videos like for school etc. I would just keep them on mute and turn on captions). I try my best to avoid situations where music is being played and advise my family not to play it nor videos containing it.

This was quite difficult for me because it made me notice so many things around me that either contain light background music or full out songs. But I am inshAllah willing to do anything I can to please Allah, because of the hadith that says:

Abu Qatadah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better.”

However, recently I’ve searched up the fatwa for this in Arabic and found this Jordanian website and this Egyptian website which say that music, unaccompanied by singing, and without any bad language or haram images is okay. I dug deeper and found this article (https://mawdoo3.com/حكم_الموسيقى - not letting me link for some reason) which said there was a difference of opinion. I was so confused because websites like islamqa never mentioned there was even a difference of opinion. They just outright said it’s haram like it’s fact.

So now I’m confused. Is it okay for me to listen to music without vocals? I don’t want to listen to music for pleasure, but just be able to watch videos on YouTube without worrying about any background music put on them. I know that the four madhabs all said it’s haram but some scholars disagree, and with evidence.

Tldr; thought music was all haram, found out there’s a difference of opinion. Is it okay if I start listening to it again (without vocals, bad language or haram images)?
