I am interested in learning

1- a basic but broad overview of Islamic history, culture and beliefs

2- the arguments and interpretations that extremist and non-extremist Muslims use against one another

so far the books I'm considering are: 'no god but god: the origins evolution and future of Islam' by reza aslan, 'destiny disrupted: A history of the world through Islamic eyes' by tamim ansary and 'the great theft: wrestling Islam from the extremists' by Khaled Abou El Fadl.
