Wasalam all. First before anything #FREEPALESTINE
Ok now on to the topic, I want to make it clear I do not want this thread to be talking about the rulings and such. That’s not the point of this post
So ngl I’ve just been really confused internally when it came to the topic of mortgages. In the beginning I was very nonchalant about it and thought it was fine cause we live in a non sharia country
But now I’m not feeling as strongly just based off of the research I’ve done and idk how to go about it. I still believe that it’s ok and i did talk to an imam who gave me all opinions when it came to the topic and he laid it all out for me and told me do what you think is best.
This is something that I’m not fully thinking about now cause I do plan to rent in the beginning cause of the career I’m getting into but this is more so for the future. I just don’t know what to do because I don’t want Allah swt to be upset with me but then I see so many good Muslims who have mortgages and it makes me think that it’s ok and just reading the opinions on it making it ok (how it’s inflation not riba etc) it’s just so tiring cause idk what to do practically. I don’t want to lose money in the future and I know Islamic mortgages can be even more money. I hate the idea of giving a landlord his mortgage money every month and not getting equity
sigh it’s just frustrating and I pray that Allah guides me to the right choice. It’s such a battle cause I don’t want to end up getting a mortgage then dying and I have to answer to Allah for that, but at the same time how could I be punished if there’s rulings that say it’s ok?
Ok I’m done rambling. Jzk.
