Asalamu Alykum my brothers,

I am new to reddit, and to this subreddit, but I thought I would share this with you because I have many personal experiences with Dua and we are in Ramadan.

Takeaway from this post for those on a hurry:

The reality of worship is Dua [supplication] so do a lot of it during prostration in the last third of the night and of course in all times of the day!

Please share this with everyone you can!

For those who want to increase:

Mercies, guidance, pearls and gems about Dua :

2:186

And when My servants ask you, [O Muḥammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

This verse is the verse right after the verse saying the Quran was sent down in Ramadan so it seems like it's a hint to make a lot of Dua in Ramadan.

Moreover, the prophet peace be upon him said, as reported by An-Nu'man bin Bashir (May Allah be pleased with them),

"Du'a (supplication) is worship." [Abu Dawud].

and in an addition : (He then recited:) "And your Lord said: Call on Me, I will answer you" Sunan Abi Dawud 1479

Moreover,

Allah Exalted be he said in 40: 60

And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.

So making Dua is an order from Allah Exalted be he and is a protection from Kibr [ being proud and arrogant].

52:28

Indeed, we used to supplicate [worship] Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."

And in the Hadith

Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Nothing is more honorable before Allah than supplication.”

Related by At-Tirmidhi with a full chain of narrators. Ibn Hibban and Al-Hakim graded it as Sahih;.

and

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Allah is angry with someone who does not ask of Him."

Grade: Hassan [Al-Albani]

and

Abu Hurayra said, "The most miserly of people is the one who is miserly with the greeting. The most incapable of people of people is the one who is the most incapable of supplication."

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1042

and

Jabir narrated that :

the Messenger of Allah said: “There is none who utters a supplication, except that Allah gives him what he asked, or prevents evil from him that is equal to it – as long as he does not supplicate for something evil, or the cutting of ties of the womb.”

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3381 sahih [ Darussalam]

and in an addition : So a man from the people said: “What if we should increase (in it)” He (ﷺ) said: “(With) Allah is more.”

and

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "No believer turns his face to Allah and asks Him for something but that He gives it to him, either by giving it to him sooner in this world or storing it up for him in the Next World, as long as he does not try to make it come quickly." They asked, "Messenger of Allah, what does 'making it come quickly' mean?" He said, "He says, 'I asked and asked and do not think that I will be answered.'"

Sahih [ Al-Albani]

and

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s messenger as saying, "Supplication is beneficial regarding things which have happened and things which have not happened, so devote yourselves to supplication, servants of God." Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Ahmad transmitted it from Mu'adh b. Jabal. Tirmidhi said this is a gharib tradition.

So when do we do much Dua? The prophet peace be upon him, the guide and the blessing and the mercy answers you,

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "The closest that the slave comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so invoke Allah much (in prostration).

Reference:Muslim 1/350.

and of course during Qiyamul layl [night prayer] in the last third is even more prone to being answered

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

When half of the night or two-third of it is over. Allah, the Blessed and the Exalted, descends to the lowest heaven and says: Is there any beggar, so that he be given? Is there any supplicator so that he be answered? Is there any beggar of forgiveness so that he be forgiven? (And Allah continues it saying) till it is daybreak.

Musim 758c

If I said something true it is from Allah and if I said something false and wrong it is from myself and shaytan.

And Allah knows best... wal Alhamdulilah rab Al Alameen [ All praise be due to Allah the Lord of the Worlds]
