And He is the One Who merges the two bodies of water: one fresh and palatable and the other salty and bitter, placing between them a barrier they cannot cross. -Qur'an 25:53 Richard Dawkins here criticizes the scientific inaccuracy in the Qur'an when it claims that salt water and fresh water do not mix. This refutation is not about the oft quoted image of the meeting of North Sea and Baltic Sea (which might not be the junction of those two seas at all). Although this in itself refutes Richard Dawkins' claim, but this proof has often been criticized as the water does eventually mix. I have another refutation which is a well researched phenomenon backed with research papers. A solar pond is a pool of saltwater which collects and stores solar thermal energy. The saltwater naturally forms a vertical salinity gradient also known as a "halocline", in which low-salinity water floats on top of high-salinity water. [1] As is clear from the image there are 3 layers formed
This has seen successful implementation in multiple places [1][2]. So either Richard Dawkins is lying deliberately or lying because of ignorance. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It is enough for a man to prove himself a liar when he goes on narrating whatever he hears." https://sunnah.com/riyadussalihin:1547 Obligatory - Not a scholar.
