I am writing a story where young women are granted magical powers to use for good (for those who understand the reference, think Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, etc), and since I am a big fan of representation in media I wanted to try writing a Muslim character. However, I have heard elsewhere that all magic is considered taboo and that Muslims would prefer not to be associated with magic. I want to respect this belief, but I have no Muslim friends so I hope it's alright to ask here! Are all forms of magic considered off limits, are there exceptions? For Muslim anime fans, how do you feel about magical girl shows?
