You got excited for Ramadan a week before it entered and convinced yourself you’re going to do so much worship ....
Ramadan entered, you have your decorations up and there’s excitement in the air that first iftar was amazing.
First week your motivation was at an all time high you felt like the deen is so easy and you wonder why you haven’t been doing it like this all your life.
2nd week hits and after a week of fasting you’re slightly exhausted the buzz from last week isn’t there anymore and motivation levels drop. sehri feels like a burden and you sluggishly roll out of bed with minutes to go before fajr.
2nd week, old habits are creeping in you’re back on Instagram and Twitter watching viral videos all day but you realise it’s Ramadan so you convince yourself watching a mufti menk YouTube videos will counteract that.
2nd week now feels like it’s not even Ramadan anymore and the days just go by and you only pray salat because of the guilt you feel after you hear the Adhan go off on your app.
You’ve started to put more energy into preparing for eid and your Amazon basket is slowly filling up with decorations and gifts.
If this is you .... please stop and refocus because you still have time inshallah to make the most of this holy month.
