As-salamu alaikum,
Following hanafi fiqh, I read online and I'm told that in order for prayer at night to be classed as tahajjud, I need to sleep and then wake up for it. I do want to try and do this to gain the reward of tahajjud, but I work night shift and so I'm always awake during the night anyway. I do try sometimes to try and sleep for even just half an hour, but most of the time I can't sleep. The weekend when I'm off work, I try to sleep a little later and wake early so I can try to sleep for tahajjud, but I'm so tired after work and already have difficulty in getting to and staying asleep, I can rarely manage it.
Is there still a reward for praying at night and is there anything else I could do?
Jazakallahu kharian for any replies
