Just some thoughts and questions on Shia Islam.

How did Shia Islam go from a political movement which supported Ali as Caliph to a theological movement?

It started with the belief that Ali should be Caliph. But Ali was fine following Abu Bakr (RA) and Umar (RA). But his supporters won't. Then you have the Safavids with their forced conversion and false hadiths to control their populace from Ottoman control.

It's encouraged in Islam not to hold grudges and make peace. So why is their a constant hate on certain figures like Umar and Aisha.

It's been centuries since the Caliphate. So why does it matter? Ali did become a Caliph and just as the Prophet (pbuh) predict the Caliphate would end and his grandson (Hussein) would be killed. This was predicted and well known. So everything which happened well happened.

I'm sorry if this offends anyone it's not my intention. I just don't understand Shia Islam and it makes no sense. At it's core it follows Ali and put him in a higher position than he should be. If he had not passed to soon, they would have supported Hussein and then most likely his children. Thus establishing a monarchy...which isn't what was encouraged.
