Salam everyone. In the upcoming year, I will be soon moving into a new area and living alone. Due to concerns about living alone as a female and past harassment experience, I am thinking of getting a dog for protection. It will not be possible to keep the dog "outside" or in another living space. The dog and I will have to share a living space. I am very anxious about living alone and am trying to be very cautious as much as possible which means wearing modest clothing and avoiding bad crowds. However, I still want to relieve my anxiety. I am going to discuss this matter further with other people to make a fully informed decision. I have heard dogs kept as pets are not allowed but those kept for protection and possibly for medical conditions are allowed (I might also be qualified for a therapy dog though my primary intention for wanting a dog is for protection).
Anyways, I would love to hear your inputs. TY for your answers in advance.
