Salaam Brothers and sister,
Sorry if my English is bad (English isnt my first language) or if i haven't done paragraphing correctly.
I am 16. And i live in a country where 95% of the people are muslim(which i am proud of), but some people are just rude. This happened 30 mins ago. I went to pray dhuhr at my local masjid.the person besides me was a man(about 60 ig), as i started to pray my sunnahs, i could see him from my peripheral view doing the dissappointed angry head shake and he kept looking at me from my head to feet constantly.
Ngl i dont even know if i prayed my sunnah properly because of how confused i got. Skipping forward, the imam came we read our fard prayer in congregation and the man moved to the front row(one row ahead of me) from where he turned to look back at me periodically, then after that i read my 2 sunnahs.
But throughout all my prayers i just couldn't stop thinking about him, about what i was doing wrong. After my prayers i was doing dhikr, when he came up to me and said to the 3 people sitting besides me that my prayer isnt valid because i am wearing half sleeves(he didnt even talk to me, he told the people next to me!). Which he could have told me nicely but he decided to make me feel bad by creeping me out the entire time.
Also i thought it was permissible to pray in half sleeves for men. Isn't the obilgatory area you have to cover from the belly button to the knees?
Now i don't even wanna go to the mosque for Asr, even though he isnt a regular there(it was my first time seeing him). But dont you think he could have been nice? Or maybe i am just dramatic.
