Hey all,

I am a Christian who is looking to understand Islam better. I am a history student and appreciate how impactful Islam has been in the development of humanity. Mostly, I want to understand it in better context as most of what I am exposed to in my studies are Western commentary (even though it's trustworthy, academic sources, it's still not the same as the primary source or even non-Western commentary.) Anybody have any suggestions? I'm open to pretty much any primary sources or scholarly writings on the subject.

Also, I live in an area that has some pretty deep misunderstandings of Islam, which can lead to islamaphobia. What better way to be a more united human race than by trying to understand each other better?

I also want to express my deep condolences for the millions of Muslims who are being detained in camps throughout the world. I can't believe it isn't a bigger story in Western news. I'm so sorry that your communities are suffering and the only acknowledgement its given in Western culture is when LeBron James says "it's complicated." It's not.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

May our (similar?) monotheistic God bless you with a good day today :)
