Shaykh Muqbil bin Hādi al-Wādi’ee [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“How many people posses doctorates in Islamic Jurisprudence [Fiqh] and understand nothing. How many have doctorates in hadeeth and do not understand one hadeeth; these certificates give creditation to many people to claim certain positions which they are not deserving of, and how does the title Dr. help you whilst you are ignorant about the Islamic [Religious] Law [Sharee’ah] of Allāh?!”
