Salaamaleikum friends. Longtime sub lurker here. I write a sci fi setting called Solverse. Religion is an integral part of my writing, as I believe sci fi that does not include it fails to answer the question of how the majority of humanity will progress in consciousness and how a life in space would alter our religions or spawn new ones.

Most of my religions are constructions only within my setting, but it's understood that 'Old Earth' religions exist and are still practiced en-masse by those on Earth.

In this article I describe a type of technology that would appear to be magic to less advanced human civilization. I provide an origin story for the black stone of the Kaaba and an explanation for why it was venerated from the classical era to today:

Black Stones are aberrations of nature deliberately engineered by first Ruin and later expanded upon by Exades. Based on a purposeful misapplication of the Nexon technology and it's associated gate, the Black Stones are best understood as extensions of the Black Gate itself in the same way that Nexons are local objects accessing a much greater and more powerful system.

The size, shape, and physical characteristics of the stone do not have any particular bearing on the intensity of its power.

The one good black stone of Earth was sent by the one the A'yon and Hiterians call "the Deceiver", an El'yon of unknown name who was able to reverse a stone's connection to the Black Gate and sent it to Earth in antiquity as a sign of victory during the Solarian War. The stone would later be found by Abraham who interpreted it as a sign from God and built a shrine known as the Kaaba to commemorate the event.

My open question to y'all is, would you find this offensive if you were a reader, or would you be glad to see Islam featured prominently in a sci fi setting? Or would you be ambivalent about it? It is definitely not my intention to offend Islam or any of my Muslim readers, and I frankly do not know enough about Islamic mores to make that call myself. Any and all input is appreciated; thank you very much for your time.
