Hi, I’m not educated enough in ahadith science to form a strong opinion, I’ve only read a few articles online and asked a knowledgeable Muslim. I’m wondering if ahadith science (examining an isnaad to conclude if a hadith is sahih, fabricated, weak, hasan) has been validated. Meaning, has there been a case where we thought a hadith is sahih and it was then proven to be sahih? Or a hadith as fabricated proven to be fabricated? Or, probably a weird example, cases where the same method was applied to an oral tradition that also had a contemporary written record where the scholar deemed it sahih and the written record 100% matched (or fabricated and the record matched)?
Sorry if I’m not making sense. I’ve been having a tough time seeking the truth—as my post history will attest to—and I’m trying to address the many roots of my struggle one at a time. I’d appreciate sources if you have any so I can do more reading :)
