I recently saw a video of Assim Al-Hakeem speaking of muslim female doctors who work at public hospitals, where men and women are treated alongside one another. In this very same video he states, that a muslim female doctor should isolate herself during breaks etc., and avoid all as in literally all contact with male colleagues if it is not a medically oriented form of contact. He even goes as far to saying that a muslim female doctor should and can not greet her male colleague - be it an innocent smile or a “good morning John! 😊” - it is not permissable and should be avoided.
This in my head sounds absolutely absurd, and almost dehumanising for both the doctor and the hypothetical colleague. Nevertheless, I wanted to know if he has any actual point in what he claims from an islamic point of view.
