Would this intention be considered kufr?

Asalamu Alaikum.

I was wondering if there is an action which a Muslim does not know if it is considered a sin or kufr and the Muslim would do the action if it is a sin but leave it if it was known to be kufr, so one continues to do this action without knowing what the actual answer is (i.e weather if it takes one out of the fold of Islam or is some sort of sin), is this kind of mentality kufr in itself? Because one does not know the answer yet persists in what he regards to be a sin unless it is clarified it is kufr then he would leave it.
