Salam everyone, I am a 22 year old Muslim woman, born and raised in America. My parents moved here by themselves in college and have raised my sister and me as Muslims. Up until about 4 years ago, I viewed both of my parents as devout Muslims who loved each other dearly until I became aware of my father being unfaithful. I saw something on his phone and have gathered further evidence throughout the years so I'm positive he is and has been seeking out other women to sleep with for at least 4 years. I have never confronted my father about this nor have I shared the information with my mother or sister because I felt if this came to light It would destroy my entire family. As I've grown older bearing this information and dealing with the trauma it caused me, I am left simply feeling bad for my mother because she truly is a devout Muslim woman who deserves so much more than a cheating husband. I am coming to Reddit to seek any advice from fellow Muslims on how to handle this situation.
