A couple of days ago we found out that my (19F) father (59M) has been married to another woman (the age of his daughters) for a year now. He lives in another country while my mother and sibling have moved a couple of years ago since us children had to attend university. He was planning on staying in said country until he retires (at 60) before joining us. I completely understand that the last few years have been very lonely for him and we truly miss him but I cannot condone what he has done.
My mother hasn't eaten a single thing since she found out. She's very religious and spends most of her day praying and reading the Quran but even she is starting to give in. She's planning on not eating until she passes away and I have no idea what to do or say. She's prediabetic and I'm scared this is throwing off her blood glucose level and will kill her.
This isn't the first time he has cheated but it's the first time he marries in secret. He refuses to divorce either woman and I don't even think my mother would want to divorce him.
What do you suggest a daughter caught in this situation does?
