الٓمّٓ ۚ
(30:1) Alif. Lam. Mim.
غُلِبَتِ الرُّوۡمُۙ
(30:2) The Romans have been defeated
فِىۡۤ اَدۡنَى الۡاَرۡضِ وَهُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ غَلَبِهِمۡ سَيَغۡلِبُوۡنَۙ
(30:3) in the neighbouring land, but after their defeat they shall gain victory in a few years.
فِىۡ بِضۡعِ سِنِيۡنَ لِلّٰهِ الۡاَمۡرُ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ وَمِنۡۢ بَعۡدُ ؕ وَيَوۡمَـئِذٍ يَّفۡرَحُ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ ۙ
(30:4) All power belongs to Allah both before and after, On that day will the believers rejoice
بِنَصۡرِ اللّٰهِؕ يَنۡصُرُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ ؕ وَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الرَّحِيۡمُۙ
(30:5) at the victory granted by Allah He grants victory to whomsoever He pleases. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate
History books speak of the battle between the Persians and the Byzantine Empire referring to the eastern part of the Roman Empire, near Basra and the Dead Sea; Which ended with the victory of the Persians at that time; The Romans took a sharp blow in that fierce battle; Which made everyone expect the fall of the Roman kingdom at that time
Surprisingly, the Romans engaged in another battle later on. Where they defeated the Persians within several months after the crushing defeat they suffered; It was agreed with the Persians to return to the previously occupied places
It is clear that science recently proved that the lowest region on Earth is the one in which the battle between the Romans and the Persians took place; Which was referred to by the Holy Qur’an more than a thousand and four hundred years ago in Allah Subhanah wa Ta'ala saying in Surat Al-Rum. Then the prophecy predicting victory
The verses carry two clear miracles, as the verses presented the good news of the victory of the Romans in a period between three to nine years. After seven years, the Quranic prophecy was fulfilled, which recognized the truth of the victory of the Romans after the defeat at the hands of the Persians
The victory of the Romans coincided with the victory of the Muslims in the Battle of Badr. This victory came to eliminate all bad minds that do not believe the prophecy of the Holy Qur’an. To them, it was something that fell short of all their expectations; They felt disappointment and humiliation
The second miracle in that noble verse is that it referred to a geographical fact. Which was not known to anyone at the time; It said that the Romans had lost the battle in the lower region of the earth, which means that it is the closest place to Arabia.
The lowest spot on Earth where the Romans were defeated was 312 feet below sea level; According to the British Scientific Encyclopedia. Historical sources also testify that the battle between the Romans and the Persians took place in the lower part of the earth near the Dead Sea.
Above, clear evidence of the truthfulness of what was stated by the Noble Qur’an regarding the defeat of the Romans in the lowest part of the earth. Which it was impossible for anyone at that time to know was in the region lowest region in the earth; In this (plus many others) we find evidence that the Noble Qur’an is the word of God Almighty without the slightest doubt or controversy
