Recently there was some post around not wanting children and I just wanted to share that I was also very opposed to having children. In my arrogance, I thought bringing kids in this world is a cruel cruel choice.
Fast forward a decade and I can't imagine a life without kids. I never felt like I wanted them either but once I had my first, it was just not even a question in my mind. Im not saying everyone is like that of course but not having any experience with something gives you an impression that is not aligned with reality. There is no way I could have imagined my life with kids before. Just absolutely no way.
On the flip side, I have a few colleagues at work who chose not to have children. While on the surface they seem fine and im sure they are not unhappy, one of them confided once to me that he is not confident about this particular decision of his.
