Doesn’t the claim that life needs to be full of pain and suffering, and that this life is hell for the believer, justify neglecting social issues like poverty, homelessness, and genocide?
If all of these things come as a test from God, then is it wrong to interfere with them? Is it wrong to seek to alleviate poverty for yourself and others if possible?
If these things that are painful and uncomfortable are ultimately good, is it bad for me to recognize that it is harmful to me, and wish for something better, while actively working towards that better thing?
I can easily hurt someone and rob them of everything, while lecturing to them, that them suffering is merely a test from God, no?
Is it wrong for someone to hate the fact that they were a victim of worldly hardship, or to seek professional help for mental illness, since them being afflicted by those ills is necessary?
To summarize, would it be a sign of ingratitude and defiance of Gods test and plan, to seek beneficial things like, medicine, state welfare, food, shelter; since the one seeking those things is trying to make life easier for themselves? (which goes against the statement, that life is supposed to be hell for the believer)
