I've been in Sunni countries where people watch Al-Manar a lot and have a lot of respect for Iran and the Shi'a (and a lot of mistrust towards Saudis and Wahabis), and over there people struggle to believe all the Western Media day about Sunni/Shi'a rivalry. The grievances and disagreements about Ali and the Caliphate succession are seen as understandable and arguably legitimate, and it doesn't seem to people like something worth fighting over. In fact, there's even an interest in ecumenical harmonization, or at least a curiosity for dialogue.
What are they missing, in terms of content and context?
