Giving charity to benefit my deceased brother, will the reward reach him?

I know for sure that parents can benefit from their children if the children give charity/dua/hajj with the intention it to be on their behalf.

However does the same apply to a deceased brother or sister?

If my brother dies without leaving a will the reward of charity which i give on his behalf benefit him?

I'd prefer answers supported with evidence or fatwas. Thanks
