I always thought the apostasy punishment was for people that that committed treason along with their apostasy but on this sub there seem to be a lot of people that think apostates should always be killed and honestly, I find that pretty disturbing. This has been bugging me for a while and for the past few months I've been having a lot of troubling with keeping my faith because of things like this punishment.
The two opinions I heard were that apostasy is always punished and that apostasy is only punished when it's accompanied with treason. I'm okay with the second opinion because treason against a state should always be punished but I find the first one to be pretty scary, and also it basically justifies islamaphobia if anyone who disagrees should be killed.
I've been so stressed out these past few months with my doubts about Islam and I want to keep my faith and I try hard to do it but it's been a bit rough recently.
