Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters recently one of my friends has become very religious and alhamdhulillah I am happy for him and I pray that he stays on this path. However recently he told me that he plans to sever ties with one of our previous teachers who happens to not be a muslim. This got me thinking hard as my friend and this teacher have a very good bond and as I know that our teacher would be very sad if my friend stops talking to him . We three have gone out to eat on multiple occasions and I would say we have a student teacher bond that is stronger than most . We have never spoken about to religion nor has he ever made an attempt to introduce his religion or culture to me or my friend . So my question is is it a must to not make friends with people from other religions? I mean is it haram or just not advisable?
