Basically there were two types of Arabs during the time of The Prophet Muhammad (saws); the city dwellers and the Bedouins. The Prophet (saws) foretold that the Bedouins would compete in the construction of tall buildings, which seemed impossible at the time. The city dwellers lived in the cities (duh) and built things whereas the Bedouins were nomads who never built anything and roamed from place to place and continued living this kind of life up until the 20th century. Fast forward to recent times, the Bedouins gain independence, discover oil, make lots of money, and become tied in a competition to build tall structures.
