This is sort of a response to this thread that I think may warrant it's own response..
A common criticism of Islam, and the Qu'ran, is that in the Qu'ran we have "tales" from the Bible (yes, Chrsitian's believe these events are like stories that you read to a little child) except that they are wrong because of the ignorance of the author of the Qu'ran, being influenced by surrounding heretical groups that gave him false information... yadyada
A simple response:
- First we being by proving the Bible is unholy:
Well, we don't have to, Christian scholars already did this themselves:
https://www.bibleodyssey.org/en/passages/related-articles/Manuscript-History-and-John
Simply put, read through that link and you will realize that Christian's do not actually know what does and doesn't belong in their Bible. It's an untrustworthy resource, and actually, the Christian view of the Bible as a set of stories that you read to your children is a good way of looking at the Bible, that reflects the authenticity of it's verses.
We only need to find one instance of corruption to automatically dismiss the whole thing (this has never been done with the Qu'ran where not a single letter has changed throughout history)
2.
Allah tell's us in the Qu'ran he will rectify any dispute..
"And We have revealed to you, [O MuĂșammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ."
The Qu'ran here is the criterion for the Bible being true, not the other way around. You're comparing something that has not been corrupted (Allah say's it will not be corrupted) to something that is corrupted and confirmed to be corrupted by it's own scholars. It would be ridiculous to assume the Qu'ran has the same details/no changes in the story because the Qu'ran is the truth and not corrupted, not the other way around.
