This ayah serves as an important reminder for the need of unity within our ummah. Allah reminds us of the nations that came before us and split into different groups after Allah has guided them and mentions the punishment they will receive. We should heed this warning and learn from those that have came before us and ensure we stick to the clear guidance Allah has given us and remain a unified ummah.
