Assalāmu alaykum, the below paragraph is just copied and pasted from a study group I’m in:
Assalamu alaykum, does anyone know of any resources that talk about the relations between the sounds of Arabic words and their meanings? Because I was watching a video where the speaker mentions that, for example, the word سَمِعَ has a kasrah on the middle letter as it’s meaning (he hears) related to an action that requires little/no effort (hearing), whereas words with a fathah on the middle letter, e.g. خَرَجَ (he exits), represent actions that require more effort. Also, I heard in another video that there may even be relations between the meanings of Arabic words and the actual letters they’re made up of. I believe if there is a resource relating to this it’ll help me and others to memorise these words, as we’ll be able to relate the meanings with the spellings, rather than just rote memorisation
Jazāk Allāhu khayran
